2011 Legislative Session is Underway

Yesterday the MD General Assembly convened for 2011′s 90 day Legislative Session.

I am honored to have been elected by my colleagues to serve Anne Arundel County as the Vice Chair to the Delegation.

Over the next few week I will be posting updates regarding both my legislative priorities as well as issues brought before the Delegation which will affect residents of District 31, and the County as a whole.

It’s Over, And Just Begun!

I’m thrilled and humbled to announce that I have once again been re-elected to the Maryland House of Delegates. I do not hold my office lightly, and see my work as a great responsibility to God and to the people of Maryland. Thank you for trusting me to do this work on your behalf.

I am greatly encouraged by the amount of support I received this election, and have therefore decided to set my sights higher when the next election comes around. I am announcing my decision to seek the open Senate seat in Anne Arundel County District 31 in 2014.  More >

O’Malley’s New Americans

If you’ve been listening to news coverage of Maryland’s Gubernatorial Campaign, you’ve no doubt heard all of the buzz surrounding O’Malley’s new title for illegal immigrants; he’s calling them “New Americans”.  The following video captures the exchange between O’Malley and Bob Ehrlich on the subject:

So why not refer to illegal immigrants as “New Americans”?

Deck Social a Huge Success!

Everyone had a blast at the Deck Social last Thursday.  We’d like to send a huge “Thank You” to Cheshire Crab for the excellent food and service, and to everyone who attended or donated.  

In case you missed it, Delegate Dwyer hosted the best party of the campaign at Cheshire Crab in Pasadena.  Over 300 people wore their island shirts and gathered to party Carribean style.  The buffett-style meal included coconut shrimp, ribs, jerk style chicken, and several sides.  Beer and wine were free, and mixed drinks were made available for purchase.  Everyone who attended was given a coupon for 20% their next visit More >

Dwyer Endorsements

Glen Burnie Maryland – Today, Delegate Don Dwyer, Jr. of Anne Arundel County released an impressive list of organizations that have endorsed him. The endorsements cover business, gun rights and social issues.

Dwyer Signs Arizona Legal Defense

August 31, 2010 Annapolis, Maryland

Anne Arundel County Delegate Don Dwyer, Jr. has signed on today to legal documents in the case of “The United States of America V. State of Arizona”; and Janice K. Brewer in her official capacity.

The Amicus Brief is calling for the reversal of the courts decision against the State of Arizona regarding the passage of State legislation (SB1070) that authorized the State of Arizona to enforce immigration laws within their state borders.
