District 31 Anne Arundel County
Delegate Don Dwyer
I am considered one of the most conservative members of the Maryland General Assembly. I serve District 31 in Anne Arundel County. I will stand for upholding the Constitution- both the United states Constitution and the Constitution of Maryland. I am currently serving my second term as a State Delegate and will seek re-election in 2010.

State to Recognize Same Sex Benifits
May 19th
Today, the Maryland Human Resources Manager sent an e-mail notification to all members of the State legislature indicating that the state would now accept valid marriage certificates from other states.
This action was initated back on February 24th when Attorney General Gansler determined (against current law) that Maryland would recognize out of state same sex marriages for the purpose of benifits. I brought Impeachment Charges against the A/G for violating Maryland law.
Now I must consider bringing a law suit against the state for violating Maryland and Federal law by allowing certain tax and health benifits to same sex couples. ****************************************** From: More >
Name Recognition or Identity Crisis?
May 11th
Most candidates crave widespread name recognition when running for elected office. In fact, they spend thousands of dollars to insure that they obtain a certain level of name recognition. They buy television spots, signs, banners and regularly mail annoying political propaganda to targeted audiences.
It is true; name recognition does make the difference between winning and loosing in most political campaigns. It is also true that in most cases it costs lots of money to obtain a winning amount of name recognition in a specific market. On the other hand, there is what is known as earned media. A National Divide
Apr 22nd
America finds itself facing a National divide as we approach the 2010 elections. States across America will decide once again who will be elected to lead their respective states, and the nation as a whole, into the future.
The divide is one of a philosophical nature. The question facing every voting American is whether the nation will lean further left towards socialism (a nice word for communism) or will the pendulum swing back towards the Founders’ intent that American citizens remain free.
There are many who voted for President Obama who have now admittedly realized that the current President may in fact More >
Legislative Wrap Up
Apr 14th
This year, with the help of my chairman and committee, I was able to pass a VictimsRights bill that establishes the right of a victim’s representative to be notified of and have the opportunity to give an oral or written statement for consideration at the license suspension hearing in the case of a fatal vehicular accident. I consider this to be an important addition in law giving victim’s families the ability to be heard and have a sense of closure when a loved one is killed in an automobile accident.

Maryland Prepared to Pass Budget
Apr 10th
The total state expendatures are scheduled for passage. Regretfully, there is no doubt that we have yet again mortgaged the future of our grandchildren while Democrats refuse to make real cuts to state spending. We will pay the price. You should be prepared for a huge tax increase next year. Its time to reform the Democrat party to the “Minority Party”.
